Feature Suggestions for a Better Chat Experience in Long Conversations
I’d love to see some improvements in the way conversations are structured, especially for technical discussions and problem-solving workflows. Here are a few features that would make the experience much smoother:
Threaded Conversations Within a Chat
- Ability to branch off into subtopics within the same chat, without losing the main discussion.
- Each thread can be collapsed/expanded, allowing users to focus on one task at a time while keeping everything organized.
- This is especially useful when troubleshooting or working on multiple parts of a project simultaneously.
Dual-Column Chat View (Tiling Mode)
- Option to split the chat into two columns, so users can keep previous messages visible while continuing the conversation.
- Avoids excessive scrolling and makes it easier to reference earlier steps in long workflows.
- Great for debugging, step-by-step guidance, and deep technical discussions.
Collapsible Summaries for Long Conversations
- Automatically generated “Summary of Key Points” at the top of the chat that can be expanded or minimized.
- Helps users quickly get back on track after a break or when switching between tasks.
- Could work like a sticky section that updates dynamically as the conversation progresses.
