Dear OpenAI team,
I’d like to share some feedback on the recent changes to the voice input feature in ChatGPT.
While I appreciate the continued development of the platform, I’ve found the removal of two features — the visible input timer and the ability to edit the transcription before sending — to be a significant step backward in usability.
These features made a real difference in how comfortable and confident I felt using voice input. The timer helped manage the pace of speaking, and being able to review and correct the transcription before sending ensured clarity and avoided mistakes.
Without them, the experience feels more rigid and error-prone. I imagine these changes were made with good intentions, perhaps to streamline the interaction — but I’d really appreciate the option to choose between the previous and current voice input behavior, or at least see these features reintroduced in some form.
I believe these small quality-of-life features can have a big impact on how naturally people engage with ChatGPT.
Thank you for your continued work, and for taking the time to consider this feedback.
Best regards,
Joseba
