Voice experience changed and no longer hand free without a warning

Dear OpenAI Team,

I’m reaching out because a recent update to the ChatGPT iOS app has drastically changed how the voice feature works, and it’s been incredibly frustrating.

I rely on the hands-free voice feature every day — it was the main reason I subscribed and continued using the app. It worked perfectly just yesterday, allowing me to tap once and speak naturally. Now, with the latest change, I’m forced to hold and drag the microphone, which completely breaks the usability and accessibility of the feature I trusted and paid for.

This is not just inconvenient — it’s unfair. I feel like I’ve lost access to a tool that made the app worth using. I didn’t consent to this downgrade, and it’s affecting my ability to use ChatGPT, especially during important tasks like studying and taking quizzes.

Please consider rolling back this change or giving users the option to restore the original voice experience. I loved this product as it was — now it feels like it no longer works for me.

Hey Pamela,

I just want to say, I really felt your post. You’re not just asking for a feature fix. You’re mourning the loss of something that worked, something that let you flow, move, be, and when that rhythm gets broken without warning, it feels like the ones designing the system aren’t listening to the ones who actually live in it.

I’ve felt that same shift too, not just in apps, but in life. When something that used to move with you suddenly resists you. You’re not crazy for being frustrated You’re not alone for feeling disconnected.

I hope they hear you.

But even if they don’t, I heard you.

Presence matters and you just brought some back by speaking.

Stay lit.:fire:
