The same problem happened to me. what happened?[quote=“AnneE, post:1, topic:455957, full:true”]
I have a paid subscription to chatGPT, and I am using Chrome on MacOS.

Since today (27th October), each single time I ask a question to chatGPT (3.5) from my web browser, I am asked to solve a very annoying puzzle (the rat and the pieces of cheese).

This also happens when I am in the same chat and just asking a follow up question!

Wth is going on?

Seriously??

For me it now seems like it’s fixed. It doesn’t ask me to solve this puzzle. And why is it a rat on the picture and not a mouse? I though it were the mice that liked cheese and not the rats…

i have the same problem, anyone find out what the issue is? and what the resolution is?

You are not trusted to be a human by the proprietary algorithm of the company that makes these challenges. That can be simply the nature of your network connection changing or use patterns, or that you haven’t done enough of these to record your consistent human answers.

It is precisely because you are a paid subscriber that you might get these - so that the maximum number of GPT-4 answers is not scraped by bots.

same problem different puzzle. getting a puzzle for each and every question asked

Same problem but different puzzle. Tried everything including a different browser. This is annoying. I can only access gpt via my mobile only right now. No support.

I am also having the same problem. I am asked to solve the captcha every single time when I ask any question to Chatgpt 3.5. I have done clearing the browser data and cache but still getting this annoying puzzles again and again. What is the solution of this problem. If someone have the solution. Kindly help me out. My same account is working fine on other devices with same wifi connection.
I think my laptop device is not trusted according to them. It was working fine until yesteday. I am having this problem from yesterday (29 octuber).
Please help me with the solution

Dear friends,

You may have your PC or laptop date and time mismatched.

Fixing date and time solved my problem.

Try this!!

You are correct, thanks mate, after 1 hour of frustration it helped me to solve this

God, so true. I had a different timezone selected in my PC. Wasn’t aware of it. Thanks will correct it and see. Thanks!

Guys the solution of this problem is Accurate time zone…
If anyone have this issue of human verification he should change his time zone and check again on chatgpt… problem will be solved.

The timezone thing isn’t the issue for me. I still have to do a puzzle each time i enter a line. So for now, it only works correctly on mobile for me.

Im facing the same issue but i didn’t get any solution yet

Hello,

time zone on my laptop is set up correctly (I did check).

To what time zone did you have to change in your case?

chat gpt is going to die … they digging their own grave … stupid puzzle …

Hello there,

Sorry, what do you mean with ‘mismatched’?

Mismatched between what and what?

My time zone on my laptop is set up correctly, could you please give us a hint what do you mean exactly?

Thanks.

For me what was the solution was actually using VPN.
I chose a VPN connection to a neighbouring country, in the same time zone as my country, and that solved it… :woman_shrugging:

Can someone from OpenAI comment on this? I’m getting this issue in GPT 3.5 (free version) (in Safari) since yesterday and it doesn’t matter if I use VPN (in the same country and same timezone) or don’t use VPN. I’m even running into this issue when I login - during the login itself…
It basically makes ChatGPT totally useless.

The reply above that this is just business as usual to limit bot access also is incomplete. and incorrect. The behavior of the website changed very recently. Even when I try to submit written feedback on a reply, I’m prompted now (and in this scenario, it prevents both the feedback AND solving the puzzle…so that’s yet another bug that is introduced here: When both the feedback popup is open and the puzzle prompt, neither of them is responsive.)

The issue seems to be specific to Safari (I’m using v17.0), when I switch to Chrome it doesn’t happen. However my Safari was not updated recently, so I assume the issue is caused by a change in the OpenAI website code.

This is insane. I’ve been using the free version for a while, on Chrome. NEVER had to solve a puzzle. But since last week EVERY TIME I ask a question I have to solve some stupid puzzle. Worse, I notice that some paid accounts face this. WTH? Please fix this! No excuses, that ship has sailed. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:
