Environment
- Surface: Web
- Browser or app version: Chrome
- Affected feature and model, if relevant: Account Login / Two-Factor Authentication (TOTP 2FA)
Bug
What happened, and what did you expect?
What happened: After entering the correct email and password, the login fails at the TOTP step. The system repeatedly prompts that the authentication code is invalid/incorrect, preventing me from logging in. Multiple devices and network environments fail, and another user/friend is experiencing the exact same issue.
What did you expect: The valid TOTP code generated by the authenticator app should be accepted, allowing successful login to the account.
Reproduction
Steps or a minimal example prompt:
- Navigate to the OpenAI login portal .
- Enter the account email and password (credentials are verified correct).
- When prompted for the Two-Factor Authentication (TOTP) code, enter the current 6-digit code from the authenticator app.
- Click “Continue” / submit the code.

How often: Persistently (100% reproduction rate across every login attempt).
