In discussing the use of punishment in childhood, I asked this question and was flagged as violating policy:
As one who has been trained by punishment, it seems impossible for me to not see the imminent danger and use that as my motivation. It seems that motivation isn’t something I can easily choose. I feel able to choose what I do, but unable to choose why I do it.
I am not sure what I am expected to do differently. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
