Hi OpenAI team,
As an active ChatGPT user, I’d like to express deep frustration over the recent restriction on accessing externally hosted images (like those from PostImg), which used to work perfectly. This feature was essential for research, error checking, visual collaboration, and technical support.
Now, under the argument of “privacy protection,” this functionality has been removed for all users — even when the image is voluntarily shared by the user themselves.
What feels contradictory is that many advanced features like image editing remain available to paying users. So, does privacy only matter until someone pays? Ethical consistency shouldn’t be gated behind a subscription.
I understand the need for responsible AI use, but this decision blocks legitimate, safe workflows and goes against the original spirit behind the name “Open”AI.
I kindly request that you reconsider this restriction, or at least offer a transparent and fair solution for users who work with visual content in an ethical and collaborative way.
I look forward to a clear response. ty
