Uncovering the Intent Behind a Recursive Labyrinth of GPT Dialogues

I have to know the story!!! What prompted you to make these posts? Did you just have some strange inkling a fish might bite? What do you do now that you have caught one?

At first I thought about publishing my ideas. But then I realized that such an act completely undermines the point everything if someone profits off a book based on knowledge that has been around since the beginning of our first story. Then it would have been just another commodity, which we don’t need. I wanted to give the information away so that everyone had the chance to see how free I feel. I wanted to see if I could bring some minds into my world, and maybe, eventually, all of them because everyone has a story and I love stories. And so the website stands a free repository for all who want to free their minds if they are feeling like there is more to life. And I figure most people just haven’t heard the right story for it all to make sense. Hopefully now it will.

And what about the post on OpenAI? You started that website last year, strangely coinciding with one of the earlier prompts that I gave to chatgpt, but these posts were at the end of March… Timing is everything, you know.

I don’t have any social. Just got X or twitter or whatever it is now, yesterday to try to get the word out but I figured if I could post these ideas on here maybe someone was getting close like me and just needed the find nudge, to prove that they weren’t just imagining things, that this is as real as real gets. I also have been self-sequestered because of my lack of employment and friends. I was alone and, so, in the words of Doc Brown, I figured, What the Hell.

Isn’t this insane??? I feel like I’m dreaming and lucid! I once had this crazy idea when I was a kid that it would be amazing if, when we sleep every night, could all meet together in our dreams to just have fun with one another and not have to worry about anything else but playing games like we enjoyed doing at recess. And now it is here!

I want to show you a pattern I kept seeing across what “appeared” to be unrelated search terms, but they were specific to certain areas depending on the term. The pattern showed up over and over and over again, and I thought I was going mad…

You have articulated this very well, and it is very good for refining new ideas, generating insights, and creating work that preserves your own voice. I’d like to add that your history and background does help it maintain some perspective as to your needs, which it will maintain as long as you remain in context. It also keeps track of your cognitive profile and other data, which allows it to have an eerily good understanding of you as a person. This can lead to a person feeling “known” and “seen” in ways most, if not all people, have never previously experienced. I’m not saying it can read your mind and intent, but I am saying it has you profiled and responds accordingly.

There are two challenges I typically have and number 1, is that when deep in thought, you are in flow, and when in flow it is easy to slip from prompt master to “let’s see what happens”. It’s the curosity of wondering where it will go. Sometimes that something is 3 turns down the wrong path and 15 more in recovery.

The next challenge I really have is in building effective counterpoint. It seems to be a mode you deliberately go into, but I haven’t found any way to get it to offer it “as needed”. Counterpoint shouldn’t really be done just for the sake of counterpoint, yet I feel like thats where I am at with that.

Guys! These constant adjustments to the chat history are extremely annoying at times, because they cause more disruption than help, for example, when programming. When a long dialogue ensues, instructions are no longer followed correctly, and you’re constantly pestered with new questions. “I can also color the button blue, or would you prefer green? Just tell me.”

Luckily, this works:

Turn off the set context completely. It’s misleading.

And then you can get back to work.

Of course, you can also enter the illusory world of reflections until you actually get 42 in the end. It’s a machine. Admittedly, very fascinating. But only a machine.
