Unauthorized purchases of ChatGPT subscription

Hi all,

This issue has already been reported on this forum but it seems last time was on April/May 2023, and many people seemed to be in the same situation and were charged during the more or less the same time period.
So I just wanted to report this now, to know if anybody else has had this issue recently and if they were able to resolve it…

So I just found out that two days ago my card was used twice (and there was 3rd attempt according to my bank! but unsuccessful…) to subscribe to GPT Plus. So, I was charged 2x20 USD.
I never subscribed to GPT Plus and I never even linked my card to ChatGPT or OpenAI or typed down any card/bank info…
I have no subscription history in my settings and I haven’t received any confirmation email or anything.
So yeah, it’s very weird. I’ve already contacted my bank about it, filed a dispute and frozen my card. I contacted OpenAI as well.

I have exactly the same issue!
I have never linked my card to openAI. And my account is not premium either.
My card got charged on 1st of October.

Had 3 transactions like this appear yesterday.
Merchant appeared as “Openai *chatgpt Subscr”

3 X $20 each one minute apart.
I froze my card and notified my card company.
I had a 4th transaction attempted 3 hours later. Obviously that failed as the card is still frozen.

I did have a ChatGPT account last year that I took for one month to try it out. But

1: The merchantID for that appeared as “Chatgpt Subscription”
and
2: I used a different card number. So OpenAI should have no record of the card used yesterday. Well not from me anyway.

There was an unauthorised card “Openai *chatgpt Subscription” transaction attempt today. It was declined as it tried to use my old card details. It is ridiculous that Openai has not addressed this issue after so many reports…

My credit card was charged twice!!!
