Unable to complete phone verification when signing to Codex

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue signing in to Codex with my ChatGPT account because I can’t complete the phone verification step.

Whenever I try to verify my phone number, I get this error:

“Unable to send a verification code to this phone number. Please try again later or use a different number.”

I’m located in Vietnam and have already tried two legitimate mobile numbers from different carriers:

  • Viettel mobile number
  • iTel eSIM (using the VinaPhone network)

Both numbers are active and can receive SMS normally.

My regular ChatGPT account works normally. The problem only occurs when I try to complete the phone verification required during the Codex sign-in flow.

Has anyone experienced the same issue, especially with Vietnamese (+84) numbers?

If so, how did you resolve it? Is there anything else I can try?
