Unable to Access ChatGPT Plus Since 3/03

I tried to change the email of my ChatGPT Plus account, but then an error occurred, and I tried to revert this change through the link I received by email. I accessed it, but nothing happened. I then tried to change the password and log in again — without success.
When I try to log in, it asks for my full name, date of birth, and account creation. I also tried to reset the password. It sends me a code, I enter the code, change the password, and it says the password was successfully updated. But then, when I try to log in, it redirects me to the “create a new account” page again, asking for my full name and date of birth. When I try to create the account, it says the account already exists.
I’ve tried logging in using just the email, with Google, and with my phone — always without success. I’ve been dealing with this since March 3rd with several attempts, contacted the help chatbox, but got no results. I’ve already sent several emails to contact and support without any success.
I created a new account, but I want to recover my original one, since I’ve been using ChatGPT for over three years — it’s already trained and has integrated assistants.
Could you please help me? Is there another support channel that can assist? It’s strange that a company like this can’t resolve the issue. Moreover, I can’t cancel my subscription either, if I need to.

Hey Nadia, that definitely sounds frustrating, especially after trying multiple recovery steps.

From what you described, it looks like the account may have ended up in a login loop after the email change attempt, which can sometimes cause the system to redirect between login and account creation.

A couple quick things you could try just in case:

  • Try logging in using a private/incognito browser window
  • Clear your browser cookies/cache and try again
  • Make sure you’re signing in with the same method originally used (email/password vs Google/phone login)

If the loop continues, best step is to reach out to support@openai.com so they can review the account. Hope they can get this sorted for you quickly.
