I would like to suggest two relatively small features that could make the ChatGPT mobile experience more convenient.
1. Add a scrollbar to the photo/image picker
I keep a large number of photos and images locally on my phone. When I want to attach an older image to a ChatGPT conversation, I currently have to scroll through a very long list manually.
It would be extremely helpful to have a scrollbar on the right side of the photo/image picker, so users could quickly drag through a large collection and jump to older images.
There is a workaround: I can first add the images I want to my system gallery’s Favorites and then select them in ChatGPT. However, this changes how I organize my photo library and requires switching to another app before returning to ChatGPT.
A scrollbar directly in the ChatGPT image picker would make this workflow much faster and keep everything within the app.
2. Add short audio clips to normal text conversations
I would also love to have the ability for ChatGPT to insert a short audio clip directly into a normal text conversation.
For example, ChatGPT could display a small speaker/play button, similar to the pronunciation button in Google Translate, or a short voice-message bubble like those found in WeChat or LINE.
This would be especially useful when ChatGPT wants to:
demonstrate the pronunciation of a word or phrase;
say a short sentence;
provide a brief spoken explanation; or
simply add a small spoken message to a text conversation.
The important part is that this would be an inline, lightweight audio element, rather than requiring the user to switch to another app to play an audio file or start a full voice conversation.
I really enjoy using ChatGPT, and I think both of these would be relatively small UI/UX improvements that could make the experience more convenient for many users.
I hope the team will consider them for a future update. Thank you!
