"Trusted Access for Cyber" Failing Verification despite Persona Success

Hello,

I am a security researcher working for a Forbes Top 100 company and a member of Anthropic’s CVP program but trying to use OpenAI Codex TAC for my own personal security research unaffiliated with my work. For what its worth, I was instantly verified for CVP without issue, and I believe the current TAC program has a bug.

I am attempting to apply for TAC as an individual but even though the Persona verification succeeds, I continually encounter the message “Your identity couldn’t be verified or your account is ineligible at this time. If you think this is a mistake, please contact support.”.

I have contacted support and they just tell me there is nothing they can do because they don’t have any way to escalate or determine what is wrong.

TAC access is the only reason I haven’t switch over to Codex 20x plan yet. I’d really like to give Codex a chance over Claude Code.

Thanks for sharing the details, and I understand this is frustrating.

Trusted Access for Cyber verification is handled through the application and identity verification process. If a verification attempt is not approved, we are not able to manually override the result or provide additional details about why a specific result occurred.

At this time, Trusted Access for Cyber verification does not support retries or appeals.

This is a follow-up to my last post where the thread was locked prematurely without me being able to respond or ask any follow-up questions. This is not the support that OpenAI customers deserve.

Its evident that the process has a bug. The page tells me to retry verification instead of saying denied. If my application was denied, it would not instruct me to immediately retry. I’ve retried 4-5 times and every time its the same response. I am requesting that the bug be investigated as this is an illogical response from the application. On the flip side, Anthropic’s CVP process is very clear and smooth, a sharp contrast to OpenAI’s TAC program.
