I use ChatGPT like a second brain, and over time I’ve built up a long history of ideas, jokes, and project notes across different chat threads. Sometimes I remember a specific line or concept I wrote, but there’s no easy way to find it again unless I manually scroll or guess the keywords.
What I’d love is a feature where I could type something like:
“What was that drive-thru joke I wrote about paying for someone else’s order?”
And ChatGPT would instantly return something like:
Found in chat from June 11: “I pulled up to the window. Paid for his order. Took what he had.”
With a #tag link or jump button that takes me directly to that part of the chat log when I open it.
Bonus points if I could even favorite or pin moments in-chat for later access, kind of like bookmarks. It would make this tool feel way more like a living, searchable notebook instead of a one-way archive.
This would be insanely useful for creators, students, writers, anyone who uses ChatGPT for ongoing projects or idea generation.
It would act like a thinking web search where it searches through all of your chat history to find various relevant information to your request.
