Trapped in Business workspace

Bought the Business plan mainly for the additional data protections and DPA, but I got blindsided by the fact that its credit based billing only (which I thought was not obvious at all from the way the plans are presented), which is significantly more expensive. So I am trying to walk back on that, but finding that it isn’t easy. Cancelling the plan doesn’t cancel the workspace until the end of the billing cycle (26th of June), and you can’t leave the workspace as the sole owner. And when I tried creating a new account with a different email, in order to become the new owner of the workspace so my main account can leave, the account is stuck on the “checking your account” page when trying to join (perhaps because they’re new).

So does this mean I am effectively stuck in this workspace on my main account? And that I effectively have to migrate over to a new account if I want to stop using credit based billing and go back to a personal plan? I can’t seem to find any way around this issue, my account effectively seems trapped in the business plan with no way back except for hoping that the workspace being deactivated at the end of June boots it out.

The promotions to “upgrade” to a business account are already quite invasive, and the fact that this type of account is in fact massively more expensive for most peoples usecases is hard to figure out. The fact that migrating your personal account to business irreversibly traps the data in the business workspace unless you spend the time to manually export it out is already pretty bad, but the fact that its literally impossible to go back in this particular circumstance is even worse. I am starting to get the impression that the way “business” accounts are promoted and the way it traps your data is in fact a dark design pattern to funnel users into this much more expensive usage plan.
