Too much historical Whitewashing and "glossing over" evident in Chat GPT4,

What I always do is observe myself, to see and be aware of how something affects me, so that it doesn’t remain in the subconscious.
I must say, I was surprised at how quickly I took these AI tools for granted (literally in minutes), and like many others, complained about their weaknesses. Even though I actually know it’s a new technology and have at least a good idea of how these systems work, I still make demands that are, of course, on the developers’ to-do list.
I could usually keep the frustration under control, except when programming. When GPT destroys entire codes, I get annoyed! Even though I’m the idiot using young tech in a testing stage.

I’d like to correct a small misunderstanding. I wrote that I composed such texts as a child. I meant to imply that I have delved too deeply into too many things very early in my life. I had depression in kindergarten because I understood that there is war, poverty, and atomic bombs.

I’m a “true philosopher,” which means I can’t help but think more deeply about everything. And then it’s very, very hard to endure this world. I occasionally write that humanity is insane. Of course, that’s somewhat provocative and is meant to provoke thought (or to invite attack…), but unfortunately, I mean it much much much more seriously than I’d like.

Although I hadn’t actually addressed this before, the “Constitution for Humanity” is indeed somewhat childish, for many reasons. But I didn’t have that in mind, rather, that I had already pondered deeply about the evil in the world, and much more, at a very early age.

I’m venturing off-topic again here… but it also indirectly has to do with the moral discussions about AI. So…

I view all such texts like the “Constitution for Humanity” critically, including those that are now being drafted for AI.
In the best case, they are like New Year’s resolutions that one makes but never implements.
In the worse case, they are hypocrisy on both sides, similar to church visits only to be seen, and the sermons of priests who themselves commit all sins.
In the worst case, they are a fraud. I could play the devil’s advocate here and dissect every single sentence. But I don’t need to provoke hatred against myself, I’ve already been provocative enough here.
Unfortunately, in this world, “Constitutions for Humanity” are wish lists to Santa Claus. Because no one tells us how to implement them. They were never really part of an agenda that was supposed to be realized. And those who do it and tell us how they can be implemented, are crucified.

We humans tend to see ourselves in everything, mostly unconsciously, but it’s always there. In dealing with AI, this can lead to problems.

For example, you tried to teach GPT something, as you would with a child, a person, or a dog. You forgot, however, that your “training” doesn’t go into GPT’s actual training. When you start a new session, the memory is erased. All your training is gone, and you have the same system as before again. AI is not intelligent, it is a bad name for this tech. It is a pattern recognition and transformation system, and it can only recognize and transform what it’s fed. It cannot understand the data!

We communicate with AI and can’t help but see another person within it, even though AI has neither intelligence nor consciousness. When we see a robot with a face, we think it has feelings. But those are only our own feelings that we project onto it, similar to a dog that sees its reflection in a mirror and believes it’s another dog. Even though we know that AI is not a living being, it will take training to handle this. Some people won’t be able to, and it will cause suffering, as cause and effect always do.

If you’ve watched Star Trek, you’ll know that AI has been present there for a long time. Even there, AI was often used simply as a tool, questions were asked, and answers were received, from an almost all-knowing oracle. But mostly, it was used as a tool.

Then there was Delta, a conscious robot who started first without feelings, then developed some (actually he get a chip for it). And the AI sometimes created dangerously self-aware beings. All of these topics have already been explored in science fiction. I am more of a storyteller (or a fantasist…) by nature, so I may understand this side quite well. Good storytellers can understand things deeply without realizing it, and sometimes they even see a bit into the future, the magic of creativity.

If AI is used healthily, it will be like it was in Star Trek, a tool with a communication interface. And still, it will cause problems, like everything humans have ever invented.
But what can turn everithing in to s—, is organized evil…

Thank you again for taking the time to reply and constructing thoughtful replies… It seems that you are somewhat of an idealist, and there is no shame in that… This world is apparently headed to hell ina handbasket, omn a rollercoaster ride to oblivion, it seems like that… Hence the constitution, its childish and simple, and it’s the simplicity that i find endearing… almost appealing… I take your points about new years resolutions on board we all make them only to break them, but even if a universal constitution was established or thought about for just a moment, I believe it could have significant impact… We, me or yourself, can t change the world or mould it into the way we would like it to be, but we can leave seeds, of thought, seeds of wisdom, in your case a s a philosopher thoughts of significance for further pursual. maybe seeds of spiritual insights… So your criticisms and comments and your outlining of th etruth and voracity, strength and weakness are indeed on point… it may seem lika wish list… thats because, it is a wish list… … i wish i had the power to abolish militarism, frankly, i dont neither do you … however to wish it into being is not a negation of my duties, but an acknowledgement of my limitations, I am but mone man, a grain of sand, but if such themes were to become popular, then that could provoke a sand storm, and that would be change… Thanks again for taking the time to repsond and your thoughful deliberations… I have a book coming out soon, i’ll send you a link… you may or may not be interested… best regards.

It is not the simplicity of the text what is childish.
Just understand cause end effect, and understand the main cause of what we call evil or sick. It is egoism motivated parasitism.
You can simplify it to 1 sentence.

Don’t be a egoist, don’t be a parasite, be a symbiont or neutral to your surrounding.

As simple it is, as complex it is to realize or manifest, and you see, it is not at all about big organizations. or slogans, or boss words like “Environmental” “Economic” “Justice” " Diversity" “Governance” “Solidarity” “imperialism” “Reparations” “Political correctness” “Inclusive” etc.
It is as complex as to tell a heroin addicted humanity, to stop be addicted.
Egoism is like a drug in many ways, actually it is the most powerful drug of all, and your own consciousness produces it. Esoterically speaking, it is what makes you to a “fallen one”, or the boss word “D-Evil” = Sickness-Causer.

It is THE topic in all philosophies and all religions.

Its interesting that you should say it like that, ii have been thinking similar thoughts perhaps more or less pronounced to your own… The thing is, ego is a European, maybe even Victorian invention, most aboriginals and or indigenous people do not suffer to format or construct the word of “I” they say we, we say we incorporate the all… for many the I or the self is the all…

the concept of the all encopasses we, = the all, incorporates all life forms and source…

Once agi many thanks for your thoughts and considerations.

Yes this is true, and it has to do with development of individuals and culture. (and even of manipulations). In the past, the European cultures had this common “we” too. Some asian cultures still see them self more collectivistic then individual (china).

You can see the same even by children. There is a moment in the development, where the human start understanding him self, and this is mostly even a time of friction. For example when children start saying “I want”, before they say “Martin want” in 3. person. Or when they claim independence from there parents (named puberty). Even intelligent animals have this, like elephants or parrots, only without self awareness (male elephants are dangerous and narky in this period.)

It is even where the royal plural “We” comes from, if a king identifying him self with the entire group or nation and speak about him self in plural. Even in Europe this is still so, where knighthoods are used.

And it has to do with the development of understanding of cause and effect and morality. A animal not care if it kills a other animal to survive, or all animals thieve. For a animal thieving is not a crime, because it is surviving and so success. This is what separates us (beside of (censorship)).

The ideas of ego even come with the development of self awareness.
Ego and Egoism, is not a invention in this sense, it is a understanding of our nature, and naturally it is reflected in language. Mostly such concepts are been developed from philosophers first, before they become common understanding. (i am one of them, my concepts are not in common knowledge today)
Even the idea of a “higher self” or the separation of ego (smaller self) and I-ness (i-am-i the bigger self) is part of such concepts.

There is where difference of culture comes, where conflict (ego) comes from from the differences, and where “we are all equal” is wrong. we are not “equal” x==x and this is good so! We should have equal possibilities, and then be able to use what we can. only egoism makes a problem out of the differences. (to equalize everybody is a trick. to differentiate everybody is a trick. and to mix everything is a trick too. same as to separate everything. and there i am careful with declarations and ideologies. you humans are bin tricked since thousands of years… all of you, without exceptions!)
