Title: Seeking Assistance: ChatGPT’s Web Browsing Functionality Error - “Click Failed”
Hello Community,
I’m currently facing an issue with ChatGPT’s web browsing functionality that I’m hoping someone here might be able to assist me with. Whenever ChatGPT attempts to perform a web search for information, I’m encountering an error message that reads “click failed.”
To provide a bit more context, this problem arises when ChatGPT is in the process of pulling information from the web. I’m not sure if the issue is related to my network connection, server issues, or changes to the website’s design that ChatGPT is unfamiliar with.
I’ve already tried a few basic troubleshooting steps, such as ensuring my network connection is stable and attempting the process again later in case the server or website was temporarily unavailable, but these haven’t resolved the issue. I’m also using the latest version of ChatGPT, so I don’t think the problem is related to outdated software.
I’m hoping someone in this community might have faced a similar issue and could provide some guidance on how to fix this. Alternatively, if anyone knows of any common reasons why this error might occur and how to prevent it, I would appreciate that insight as well.
If you need any further information about the problem to help diagnose it, please let me know. I’m eager to get this issue resolved and get back to smoothly using ChatGPT’s web browsing capabilities.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide!

i face the same issue, in some cases it’s able to click and i get results back, but in most cases it’s just “click failed”. i noticed other people on twitter reporting the same
i guess it’s just “growing pains”, but i would really love if this would get attention at OpenAI.
the web browsing plugin is a killer feature!
I am facing the same issue, Web browsing returns “click failed” message since yesterday

I apologize for the inconvenience. It seems there’s a technical issue with the browsing tool that is preventing me from accessing websites at this time. The issue seems to be on our end, not specific to the website you provided. I’ve reported the issue to the technical team, and they are working on resolving it. In the meantime, I’m here to help answer any questions you might have or provide assistance based on the information available up to my training cut-off in September 2021.

Hey Everyone, I managed to get it working! I logged out and back in, browsing seems to be a little flaky, sometimes it works and then it does not. I think it’s a compute issue and the load on servers is high, due to the rollout of browser Chat GPT and plugins that’s my guess anyway, if there is an Open AI representative that can clarify my assumption or correct it! that would be appreciated. I would prefer to have Code interpreter access I can’t develop the business applications I need without this ability, I will correct myself, I can develop them but it’s pointless starting a project knowing Code Interpreter is in coming as what will take 3 months will only take 1 week to accomplish. Can someone from open AI comfirm the release timeline? I have so much data to sort and analyse and this will make my job so easy giving me time to focus on other parts of the projects I have.
I experienced the same problem as well.
