This discussion is about suggesting a rollover system for unused ChatGPT image-generation limits

Hi OpenAI team,

I’d like to suggest a change to ChatGPT’s image-generation limits that I believe could make a big difference for many users, especially students.

My idea is to introduce a rollover system for unused image generations. For example, if a user receives 3 image generations per day but doesn’t use them, those unused generations could be saved and added to their allowance for future days.

I think this would be much more useful than having unused generations disappear. Students don’t always need to create images every day. We might go several days without using image generation and then suddenly need multiple images for a school project, presentation, study resource, or creative task.

To keep the system fair and manageable, OpenAI could set a maximum number of images that can be saved. This would prevent unlimited accumulation while still giving users more flexibility.

I believe this change could improve the experience for students and many other occasional users. It would allow people to use their image allowance when they actually need it, rather than feeling like their unused opportunities have been wasted.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this suggestion. I hope this idea can be considered for a future ChatGPT update.

Kind regards,
A ChatGPT user and student
