It simplifies, but combined with unmarked ambiguity it hides mechanism rather than clarifying them.
The result is:
- increasing variance, due to underspecified concepts
- increasing bias, due to a anthropocentric framing
I’m less concerned with finished cake than with why and how it gets baked in the first place
