I’ve been experiencing a frustrating issue with the canvas feature in ChatGPT. When I start writing comments or edits in the popup (e.g., addressing a specific paragraph or line), everything I’ve written disappears if I accidentally click outside the popup window. This happens even if I’m just trying to copy a word or check something else on my computer.
In some cases, I’ve lost 5–10 minutes of writing because of this. It’s incredibly inconvenient, especially when working on detailed edits or feedback.
I’d like to ask:
- Has anyone else faced this issue?
- Are there any workarounds or fixes available?
- Could OpenAI consider adding an auto-save feature for drafts in the canvas popup or preventing content loss when the popup is closed unintentionally?
