Feature Request: Temporary Chats with Auto-Deletion
I’d like to request a feature that could improve privacy and usability: temporary chats that automatically delete after a set period of time.
Concept:
Allow users to create chats with an expiration timer (e.g., 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days). Once the selected time passes, the chat is automatically deleted without requiring manual action.
Why this would be useful:
-
Privacy-focused use cases: Users sometimes discuss sensitive or personal topics and may not want long-term storage.
-
Clutter reduction: Helps keep the chat history clean and manageable.
-
Session-based workflows: Useful for one-time tasks, brainstorming sessions, or quick problem-solving without leaving permanent records.
Suggested features:
-
Option to select expiration duration when starting a chat
-
Visual indicator showing remaining time before deletion
-
Optional warning before deletion (e.g., 10 minutes before expiry)
-
Ability to convert a temporary chat into a permanent one if needed
This would give users more control over their data and align well with privacy-conscious workflows.
