I have been using the ChatGPT macOS app and noticed a behavior that could be improved for better user experience.
Currently, the shortcut command always opens up a new chat. While this is useful in many scenarios, there are times when I would prefer to stay in the latest chat to continue an ongoing conversation without starting over.
It would be great if there was an option to toggle this behavior. A toggle that allows users to choose whether the shortcut opens a new chat or keeps them in the current chat would provide more flexibility and convenience.
Agree. The current behavior of the shortcut command, which opens a new chat session each time, could be more user-centric. It would be beneficial for the app to automatically resume the last chat when the shortcut is used, rather than starting a new conversation.
Currently, in the ChatGPT app or Web UI, users can select and continue an existing conversation. However, on macOS and iOS, when using Shortcuts, it seems there’s no way to continue a specific conversation session. If it is possible, could someone explain how?
As a result, when frequently using the ChatGPT function via Shortcuts, new conversations are created and listed each time, leading to unnecessary clutter.
If it were possible to specify and continue an existing conversation session through Shortcuts, it would provide better continuity, such as maintaining the personality of an AI character or keeping a consistent storyline of notifications across multiple Shortcut activations.
