Hi OpenAI team,
Proposal:
For simple, unambiguous questions (e.g., “What is the capital of Norway?”), provide a pre-generated answer.
Clearly mark it as “Pre-generated answer – click here for a new response” so users can still generate a new answer if they want; alternatively toggle in settings.
Benefits:
- Significant resource savings, especially at scale (estimated 30–40% for simple questions (according to ChatGPT)).
- Faster response times.
- Consistent and accurate answers for factual queries.
- Users maintain flexibility to get a new answer if desired.
This could be implemented as a pre-filter layer in front of GPT with a simple UI/UX indication for clarity.
It makes real sense from both an environmental and a business perspective.
Best regards,
Morten
