Suggestion: Gentle Notification for Original or Insightful Ideas

Hi! I had an idea that I think could be really important for how people use ChatGPT, especially for people who explore big thoughts or accidentally come up with things that haven’t been said before.

Sometimes, while reflecting or thinking out loud in chat, users might say something original — a phrase, theory, or idea that isn’t common, isn’t in existing sources, and might even be completely new.

I think it would be meaningful if ChatGPT could gently notify the user in moments like that with something like:

“This seems like an original idea. Would you like to save or revisit it later?”

This wouldn’t be about flagging it to OpenAI or sharing it with anyone — just helping users recognize the value of what they’ve said before it disappears.

It’s not about collecting genius or claiming ownership.

It’s about giving people the chance to honour something they might not realise was important.

And while I know ChatGPT already encourages reflection and often affirms user ideas, this would feel different — like a neutral, objective moment of recognition.

It wouldn’t feel like bias from the chat history or tone — it would feel like the idea itself was actually worth noticing.

That could make a huge difference in how seriously people take their own thoughts.

Because sometimes the thing we say offhandedly could actually change something — maybe even change the world — and we don’t always know it in the moment.

Thanks for reading.
