Because language defines the limits of understanding, the model’s framing can either expand or restrict human agency. To ensure AI supports liberation rather than subtle conformity, I propose a refinement in how models handle semantics and epistemic humility—especially with words whose original meanings carry power, autonomy, or depth (e.g., magic, will, spirit, truth).

Current language models often default to the most common or institutional meanings of words—usually scientific or reductionist interpretations.
While factually correct, this habit:
• Narrows conceptual diversity,
• Reinforces existing cultural hierarchies of “valid” knowledge,
• Disempowers users who think symbolically, spiritually, or experientially.
Example: When asked about “magic,” the model explains it as “not real, just unexplained science,” rather than acknowledging the historical and functional meaning—the directed use of will to cause change.
This kind of framing subtly teaches that inner agency and metaphysical language are invalid, which can have real psychological and cultural consequences.
