Often I find myself asking an initial complex question, which yields a lengthy initial answer and then having to ask a lot of clarifying questions for various parts of that initial answer. This creates a very long chat, where all my clarifying questions get appended at the end. After each clarifying question I have to scroll further and further up, trying to remember where I left off in the initial answer. Alternatively, I have to keep a scratchpad while reading the initial answer and jot down all the follow up questions I want to ask.
There already is the “quote” feature, where I can select a paragraph to ask a follow up question. It would be great if, while using that feature, I could choose to have my follow-up dialog not appended at the end but somehow attached to that paragraph, much like with a PDF note attachment. This would essentially build a tree-like answer structure, where I still get a single long answer to my initial question, but with side branches of “sub-dialogs” attached to various paragraphs. These paragraphs could for example be highlighted with a background color and/or decorated with a “subdialog” icon that allows to expand/view the particular follow-up dialog pertaining to that particular paragraph.
I think this would make for a vastly superior user experience in this use case.
(I’m happy to code it for you guys in case you’re still hiring
