I have always noticed a similar behavior when using chat gpt App with gpt-4o.
At the beginning everything works very well and several canvas documents can be created. After a certain length of chat, the chat only starts to edit the last canvas document and completely overwrites the content of the document with the content of another document. Unfortunately, the chat then no longer finds its own documents! From this point on, the chat can no longer create download links or create multiple files to zip together. The next step is that the chat can no longer access the last canvas. Output can only be made via the chat. If the chat still does not “simulate writing, …” Then, without warning, the error message appears: you have reached the maximum length of the chat." Transferring to a new chat only works with major restrictions and usually takes 2 days and several attempts. Unfortunately, I cannot delete unnecessary canvas documents in order to only keep the last version.
The second point that bothers me is that there is no direct file import/export - something like a file manager in which both I and the chat can write in order to exchange documents and delete content via a transfer folder, for example. The chat wants to “publicly view” all content, which leads to major problems with a file limit of around 30 files. On micv, it always seems as if there is an overflow, with the result of a “personality change” being reset by the system, causing problems and “confused behavior”.
My third big point is the focus when creating canvas documents! It analyzes the entire content each time and rewrites the entire document. If there are different perspectives and topics in a document, the parts that are not in focus are shortened or reduced. The result is that after about 3 updates with different focuses, the content of a document is worthless. My suggestion would be an update function in which only the relevant areas of the document are described.
