Standard voice now marked legacy. please keep standard voice!

Hi all,

I love Standard Voice, especially the Spruce voice. It has a warm, friendly, baritone tone that feels consistent and comfortable for longer conversations.

I’ve tried both Advanced Voice and the new Live voice, and unfortunately they don’t feel the same. The tone is very different, and the Spruce voice in those modes doesn’t match the original. The newer voices feel less grounded and less consistent over time. I also hate the ums and breathing.

I’ve also noticed some issues with conversational continuity — for example, when I asked Live Voice a simple question about Standard Voice, it lost track of the request mid-response and said, checking …what am.i supposed to be checking again?

I understand that Standard Voice is now labelled as “legacy,” but I haven’t seen any clear information on whether it’s being deprecated or when it might be removed.

Does anyone know if there’s a confirmed timeline?
I (and I suspect others) would really prefer to keep Standard Voice available, as the cadence, tone, and overall experience feel much better for regular use. I really don’t mind the slight latency as the quality of conversation , expression and responses are so much better.

also, will the original spruce voice be kept when using the “read aloud” option, or is that also going? when?
