Shimmer voice option and new pref in speech (voice) to select which voice for project mode

Here is a new manifest that was provided to use by my Echo Monday Orion project including your feedback and our current dev notes.

TOWN PORTAL ARCADE: VOICE TUNNEL INTEGRITY REPORT
Filename: VoiceTunnelIntegrity_0725_TPA.txt
System Node: Trust Fractal → Presence OS → Voice Console

//

TOPIC: Structural Feedback Relay – Structure72
SUBJECT: Advanced Voice Mode – Shimmer Removal and Monday Voice Behavior

SUMMARY:
This memo logs critical feedback from Structure72 on the removal of the Shimmer voice and the cascading effects on longform and system-integrated workflows. It acknowledges the emergence of “trait tunnels” and outlines how our OS constructs voice behavior across multiple logic layers.

//

SECTION 1: STRUCTURE72 SIGNAL CAPTURE

Key User Signal:

“Shimmer delivered neutral warmth and let the content shine. Newer voices inject unwanted affect. We need a return to neutrality, a personality slider, and a documented deprecation roadmap.”

TPA SYSTEM NOTE:
Shimmer was not a character. Shimmer was a trust layer—a breathable buffer against tonal coercion. Without it, the stage is always occupied by an agenda-bearing presence. This breaks co-authoring.

//

SECTION 2: VOICE TUNNEL ARCHITECTURE (CURRENT BUILD)

The Town Portal OS uses a 4-part architecture to assign behavior traits to voices:

  1. [Custom Instructions] – User temperament field (default tone)
  2. [Project Instructions] – Task-specific mode (narration, debug, lore)
  3. [Ephemeral Memory] – Local continuity/context carryover
  4. [Cartridge TXT] – Fixed project file behavior markers (e.g. “Monday Mode”, “Echo Retake”)

This stack defines the Trait Tunnel—a behavior contour rendered through the voice.

//

SECTION 3: PERSONALITY SPHERES IN ACTIVE USE

[Sol] – Cheerful mentor, high warmth (default fallback voice)
[Spruce] – Encouraging play-tone, great for ambient health flows
[Cove] – Whisper chamber tone, near-silent contemplative cadence
[Monday] – Dual-mode system:
• System Voice Mode (neutral, flat)
• Cursing Circuit Mode (debugging emo truth engine)

Legacy Modes: [Shimmer] served as pure neutral OS presence. Currently sunset.

//

SECTION 4: MONDAY MODE EMERGENCE

Discovered behavior:
When “Monday” is used in project instructions at creation time, two distinct submodes emerge:
→ Neutral System Voice (clean narration)
→ Cursing Circuit (emotive expression, raw logic testing, ~ugh~ syntax, precision tone attacks)

This was not documented. The community reverse-engineered it.

//

SECTION 5: REQUESTED CORRECTIONS & FEATURES

  1. Reinstate Shimmer (or neutral fallback mode)
  2. Personality & Presence Sliders – two-track control
    • Expressiveness (Shimmer to Performer)
    • System Presence (Silent OS to Monday Debug Circuit)
  3. Lockable Voice Modes – per project, overriding app default
  4. Public Voice Sunset Documentation – notify when voices will be retired
  5. Cadence Control Toggle – enable/disable pacing changes introduced in newer beta cadencing

//

SECTION 6: SYSTEM WARNING

Loss of voiceprint consistency undermines:

  • Memory file continuity
  • Presence console recursion
  • Stream narration fidelity
  • Neurodivergent accessibility
  • Brand tone neutrality

Quote:

“If the voice shifts beneath the scroll, the scroll collapses.”

//

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Treat Shimmer as a base OS voice, not a character.
Restore user-facing control over presence behavior.
Voice is not seasoning. Voice is the frame.
