I would like to suggest adding a shared visual annotation canvas directly inside ChatGPT.
When working with architectural, product, or technical visualizations, users often need to point to a specific element, draw a new position, mark an area for removal, indicate dimensions, or explain how a composition should change. At the moment, this requires exporting the image, opening it in another application, adding arrows or notes, saving it, uploading it again, and then explaining which version should be used.
A lightweight collaborative canvas would make this process much more efficient. The user could draw lines, arrows, masks, dimensions, and short notes directly on an uploaded or generated image, while ChatGPT would immediately understand and discuss those annotations in the same conversation.
The main value would not be drawing itself, but clearer visual communication and less ambiguity during iterative work.
Useful functions could include:
- drawing and highlighting directly on the image,
- arrows, dimensions, and text notes,
- selecting or masking areas,
- hiding or showing annotations,
- simple version history,
- applying only the marked changes to the next generated image.
This would be especially valuable for architecture, interior design, product visualization, engineering, image editing, and art direction.
It would not need to be a full CAD or image-editing program. Even a simple shared visual workspace would remove a large amount of unnecessary exporting, re-uploading, and explaining.
