I use both ChatGPT Pro and the API. I find I waste a lot of resource and compute power on Chatgpt when im entering queries and instructions. When I hit enter, I want to start a new line of tasks in a complex idea im trying to understand.

So when I hit enter it automatically computes and spits out a a response. With out all the proper information it needs for my question.

Im I doing something wrong? Is there way to get a new line of input without it getting triggered and running?

That didn’t work for me. I asked Chatgpt and they explained what do to press on Mac. it was the up arrow, shift return
