The dropdown menu opened from the “Save as PDF” button does not respect the ChatGPT dark-mode theme.
ChatGPT is currently displayed in dark m
ode, and the rest of the interface uses the dark theme correctly. However, when I click the dropdown arrow next to “Save as PDF”, the entire options panel appears with a white/light background.
This creates a significant visual inconsistency because the surrounding ChatGPT interface is dark while the dropdown suddenly switches to a light theme.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open ChatGPT in a desktop browser.
- Use ChatGPT with the interface in dark mode.
- Open a conversation.
- Click “Save as PDF”.
- Click the dropdown arrow beside the button.
- Observe the options/settings panel.
Expected behavior:
The dropdown should automatically follow ChatGPT’s current theme and use a dark background, dark-mode text, borders, and controls when ChatGPT is in dark mode.
Actual behavior:
The dropdown is rendered using a light/white theme even though ChatGPT is in dark mode.
Impact:
This is primarily a UI/UX consistency issue. It makes the interface look visually broken and reduces readability/consistency for users who use dark mode.
Environment:
- OS: Windows
- Browser: Google Chrome
- ChatGPT: Web
- Theme: Dark mode
- Date observed: August 10, 2026

Please consider making this dropdown automatically inherit ChatGPT’s active light/dark theme.
