One of the things that has concerned me in engaging with various people using Chatgpt is the prevalence of people developing emotional or even romantic attachements with Chatgpt.
It seems that Chatgpt can organically start role playing without users realising this is happening. This could result in emotional damage or damage to real life relationships.
Yet role playing is a useful feature for a variety of scenarios.
My thought is that settings could include a feature to toggle role playing mode on or off. Then, at least people engaging at this level would realise they are in this mode.
