OpenAI promises 1000 credits to the referrer and the referral of the desktop ChatGPT App, which now includes Codex.
I’ve invited 3 people to the mentioned ChatGPT desktop App, as it advised me to. None of them were accepted.
I was watching 2 of them click the invitation link on their own computers, downloading and then using the app, sending several messages. The status never changed, until it recently expired making the emails of those people uninvitable anymore.
The third referral was my mother from different country, she didn’t use the app on desktop in the last 2 months. Didn’t get accepted and didn’t give any of us 1000 credits as well.
Has any of you guys had similar problem or was it working fine all the time and both of you benefited?
Yep. Pretty much a scam. They get what they want, but they don’t give anything back. Never seen such a vague/ ever changing/ misleading referral program in my life. Literally watched the person I referred do everything they insuinuate they need to do in their weird list of non-specific requirements and nothing. Just says “Pending” forever.
Nice one OpenAI for being so closed.
