Recent update of voice input feels like a downgrade: please bring back the ability to send multiple voice notes!

Hello OpenAI team,

I’ve noticed a significant change in how voice input works in the latest update, and unfortunately, it has disrupted my workflow. Previously, I could send multiple short voice notes in succession - pausing and resuming recording as needed. Now, I am restricted to sending only one voice note at a time, which is frustrating and very impractical for my use case (reviewing long texts whilst speaking, sending bullet point information / short bursts via multiple voice notes). It also prevents a natural back-and-forth interaction, which was a key advantage of the previous version.

I would love to see the ability to send multiple short voice messages reinstated or an option to toggle between different voice input styles. If this change is intentional, could you clarify the reasoning behind it and whether improvements are planned?

Thank you for your time and for continuously improving the ChatGPT experience!

Best,
Paola

I completely agree with You – this change has disrupted what was a very natural and efficient way of interacting. That said, we’re already discussing this in a separate thread here: Speech-to-text in ChatGPT app now skips text field – how to restore editable input? – You’re warmly invited to join the conversation there so we can consolidate feedback in one place. :folded_hands:
