Hi everyone,
I’m a long-time ChatGPT Plus user and have built a very structured content development workflow around canvas-based organization, including multiple branded YouTube channels, title & thumbnail optimization, transcript insights, and wisdom vaults.
Until today, real-time syncing to canvases — powered by what I understand was the Canmore tool — was working seamlessly. Every time I uploaded a transcript or requested an insight update, ChatGPT would instantly reflect those changes in my canvases without needing to manually review or copy/paste anything. This system was essential for staying organized, especially since my workflow spans multiple canvases with strict formatting standards.
Just today, out of the blue, I noticed the Canmore tool appears to be disabled or deprecated, and now updates are either delayed, inconsistent, or simply don’t appear at all. ChatGPT confirms internally that changes were made, but when I check the canvases, nothing is updated.
This feature is a major differentiator between basic AI chat and scalable creative workflows. Disabling it without a replacement deeply disrupts what many of us power users rely on.
EDIT: the issue was I clicked: “answer in chat.” WARNING: NEVER DO THAT IF YOU WANT YOU CANVASES TO BE UPDATED.
and when I did that. it broke the link to the canvas updating. nothing would work until I created brand new canvases on my own. ChatGPT would not even create new canvases. I had to do it on my own. and so the situation is somewhat resolved. however the system is still too fragile. and changing one setting shouldn’t totally destroy the sync forever.
Thanks,
Naji
