I’d like to suggest a feature that would improve the usability of Conversation Mode in the ChatGPT app: Push-to-Talk (PTT) functionality.
Currently, the system sometimes cuts off users mid-thought because it doesn’t always detect when a person is still speaking. A Push-to-Talk button would allow users to hold a button while speaking, ensuring their full thoughts are captured before the AI responds.
Benefits of Push-to-Talk:
It prevents interruptions since the AI won’t respond until the user releases the button, ensuring their full thought is processed. It gives users more control by letting them decide when the AI listens, making conversation mode feel more natural. It also improves accessibility by helping people who pause while speaking or have speech differences avoid being cut off.
Possible Implementation:
Add a Push-to-Talk toggle in Conversation Mode settings. Implement a Hold-to-Speak functionality where the AI only listens while the button is held, then processes the response once released.
This would make ChatGPT a much smoother, interruption-free experience for users who want to fully express their thoughts before getting a response.
