Proposal to Integrate AI with CAD/3D Modeling Workflows

Dear OpenAI Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

My name is Imamsab Nadaf, and I’m an aerospace engineer with a background in mechanical engineering and technical writing. I’ve worked extensively with tools like CATIA and Arbortext in real-world aerospace production environments.

I’m writing to share an idea and potential collaboration opportunity: integrating AI—particularly GPT-powered or vision-based models—into CAD/3D modeling software.

Many CAD workflows are still heavily manual, time-consuming, and dependent on repetitive tasks. I believe AI can play a transformative role here, through:

Generative part design based on constraints

Predictive modeling and feature recognition

Natural language-driven commands for sketching or assembly

Geometry validation and optimization using machine learning

I would love to explore the possibility of contributing to this direction—either as an advisor, early tester, or collaborator.

If there’s a process for proposing features or joining pilot programs, I’d appreciate any guidance on how to proceed.

Thank you for all that you do in making AI accessible and powerful.

“Is anyone else working on similar AI-for-CAD initiatives?”

Warm regards,
Imamsab Nadaf
