I suggest that OpenAI launch a completely new “Chat” brand while keeping ChatGPT as a separate, dedicated AI service.

  • Sharing images, files, and AI-generated content

One major problem today is that when users have a valuable conversation with ChatGPT and want to share it with a friend, they often have to copy the content, create a sharing link, or move to another platform such as Telegram, WhatsApp, or WeChat.

This is inconvenient and disrupts the user experience.

Chat could solve this by allowing users to share an AI conversation directly with a friend or group.

For example, after an AI conversation, a user could simply tap “Share,” select a friend, and send it directly. The recipient could then view the conversation and continue interacting with the AI.

There would be no need to switch between an AI application and a separate messaging application.

  1. Create two brands with two different experiences

ChatGPT would remain the dedicated AI product for users who prefer the existing experience.

Chat would become a new-generation communication platform combining AI, instant messaging, social communication, and content sharing.

This two-brand strategy would allow OpenAI to preserve the existing ChatGPT experience while creating a completely new product category around AI-powered communication.

In simple terms:

ChatGPT = AI

Chat = AI + Communication

I believe this could create a much more natural and seamless way for people to communicate with both humans and AI.
