Title: Proposal: Create a “Codex Builder Award” for People Who Ship Real Products
I am not a professional software engineer, but I am currently using Codex to develop a video-production tool called TATEVO.
TATEVO is designed to automate the tedious preparation work involved in video creation, including TTS generation, subtitle synchronization, multilingual output, media organization, and preparing files for editing software such as DaVinci Resolve and Filmora.
Despite having very little traditional programming experience, I have been able to work with Codex through conversation and turn problems I experienced in video production into a real, working product.
I would like to propose an official “Codex Builder Award” for people who use Codex to complete, publish, and grow real products.

100,000 downloads: Physical Codex Builder Award plaque

1,000,000 downloads: Special award and an official OpenAI case study
Other possible rewards could include temporary ChatGPT Pro access, placement in the Developer Showcase, or an invitation to attend DevDay either online or in person. For international recipients, optional travel assistance or remote participation would make the program accessible to builders around the world.
This is not a request for a large cash prize.
What many builders would value most is a physical symbol showing that OpenAI officially recognized the product they completed with Codex. Even a small plaque or certificate could be worth far more than its production cost because it would provide a clear goal and strong motivation to finish difficult projects.
Award recipients would also naturally share their achievement on YouTube, social media, blogs, and other platforms. This would promote both the builder and OpenAI while demonstrating something powerful: Codex can help people who never believed they could create software turn their ideas into real products.
YouTube’s Creator Awards have shown that a relatively simple physical award can become a major goal and symbol of achievement. A similar program for Codex could inspire a new generation of builders to finish and publish their own software.
I am still developing TATEVO. However, knowing that I could someday qualify for official recognition like this would motivate me to keep working until the product is finished, released, and used by many people.
Please consider creating a program that recognizes both the products built with Codex and the people who worked hard to bring them into the world.
