Proposal: AI Reference ID System — Verifiable AI-Generated References for Users

Hi OpenAI team and community :waving_hand:

I’ve been developing a concept called the AI Reference ID System, designed to help users demonstrate how effectively they collaborate with AI tools such as ChatGPT.

The idea is simple:

Each user could generate an AI Reference Report based on their genuine interactions and project work.

For example, an employer or educator might ask:

“How well does Derek Goodley (ID 00001) work with AI?”

The system would then produce a transparent, evidence-based summary highlighting key abilities such as creativity, analytical thinking, consistency, and communication within AI-assisted tasks.

Benefits:

Offers people without traditional qualifications a credible way to showcase verified AI skills.

Helps employers identify candidates who use AI responsibly and effectively.

Builds trust, accountability, and measurable performance within AI-human collaboration.

I believe this approach could become a foundation for future digital credentials and AI-verified references.

I also have several related ideas expanding on this theme — ways AI can improve education, transparency, and creative industries — and would welcome any opportunity to discuss them further or collaborate with others exploring similar directions.

Thank you for reading and for creating the tools that make projects like this possible.
