Pro account incorrectly deactivated in the June 25 incident — requesting a manual review (Case 10681772 / C-CiBX1qqT07Kj)

Hi OpenAI Support,

Posting from a secondary account since my main one is deactivated and can’t log into this forum.

My account got deactivated on June 25 with no warning email, nothing — I only found out when I tried to log in and got the account_deactivated error. From the timing it looks like I got caught up in the June 25 incident (OpenAI’s update said “an issue caused some user accounts to be incorrectly suspended”), but my account still hasn’t been restored.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Appealed after the deactivation → got the template rejection on June 30 (“we are upholding our decision… we will no longer consider additional requests”) — the same exact wording many other affected users posted here.
  • Opened a support case → it was auto-closed as a duplicate by the AI agent within minutes.
  • Tried the appeal form again on July 5 → rejected within seconds of submitting. I don’t see how a human could have reviewed anything in a few seconds.

So after 10 days, I don’t think an actual person has looked at my case even once. That’s really all I’m asking for — a manual review. If anything on my side triggered an automated flag, I’m happy to fix it and keep everything fully within the terms. I can also provide payment proof and billing history to show this is a real, long-standing account: paying customer for 2+ years, on the $200/mo Pro plan for the past year, used mainly for research and coding (including a paper I’m preparing for AAAI right now, which makes the timing pretty painful).

@OpenAI_Support could you please take a look? Thank you.
