Preserve heading targets in link previews

Request:
Please allow a URL’s heading target or anchor to come through in ChatGPT’s link preview. When a link points to a specific heading within a document or webpage, the preview currently appears to show only the main page or document link, losing the heading-specific destination.

Preserving the complete URL, including its heading target, would let users open links directly at the referenced section. This would be especially useful for procedural manuals, long Google Docs, knowledge bases, and other documents where precise citations matter.

Thanks for flagging this. We’ll pass along the request to preserve heading targets in link previews. A non-sensitive example of the original link and where it opens would help pin down the issue. We don’t have a timeline to share.
