We just got hit with a new Reactions button at the bottom of a response, as someone who has my Emoji responses set to less under personalization and have given set rules not to use emojis, this is incredibly frustrating and not something I particularly like. This also hurts especially after you removed Read Aloud from the buttons at the bottom and hid it in the overflow menu making I very inconvenient to use!
I’m dyslexic and rely on using Read Aloud for every single response and not only is hiding it adding unwanted friction for every single response I get, it’s next to a destructive action which redos the response completely, and one that opens a new chat. I’ve hit the wrong thing more times then I’d like to admit and it’s adding a lot of friction between the app I’m trying to enjoy.
I’m not saying the Reaction button is bad, it’s actually great for some people! But you removed a very important button for accessibility and replaced it with something that makes responses feel more human. That’s not proactive at all.
Please implement a way for us to customize what buttons we have at the bottom! Everyone has a different use case for ChatGPT and adding the ability that change our bottom bar would significantly improve the user experience for this app in many ways! I want to have Read Aloud at the bottom, someone might want the Reaction button, some might want something different! The point is everyone wants something different and giving us the ability to choose would be incredible!
I also wanted to share a concern with the Reaction button. I know you guys want people to view ChatGPT as an Agent/Chatbot and not as a Friend/Therapist/Relationship. I feel like this could make the AI feel more comfortable and human like which for certain individuals could lead them to grow more of an attachment to the Chatbot. This could make people more likely to develop those attachments when you are adding more features to make this AI feel more human like rather then a AI chatbot which is exactly what it is!
this adds another important reason to allow us to customize the bottom bar, being able to disable this could be beneficial for a specific group of people just as being able to add Read Aloud could be very beneficial for people as an accessibility mechanism to use!
I don’t want a complex system whatsoever, I just want the ability to choose what’s on the bottom bar and I’ve seen several other people suggest the exact same thing! Please please consider this! I’m not trying to complain but give explanations for why I feel so strongly about this!
