Please help : Getting a 400 error when using OpenAI API for text completion

Hello everyone,

I’m trying to use the OpenAI API to generate text completions, but I keep getting a 400 error when making requests to the API. Specifically, I’m seeing the error “Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 () api.openai.com/v1/engines/text-davinci-002/completions:1”.

I’ve already tried setting the max_tokens parameter to a lower value, but that didn’t seem to solve the problem. Additionally, I’m also seeing the error “PLease try it later” in my code on line 64, and I’m not sure how to resolve that either.

Hello @dohmoq293

Regarding the “Please try it later” error, it’s possible that the API is experiencing high traffic or undergoing maintenance at the moment. In such cases, the API may return this error message to let you know that it’s unable to process your request currently.

To troubleshoot the 400 error, I’d suggest double-checking the parameters that you’re sending with your API request. Make sure that you’re using the correct engine ID and that your authentication key is valid. You can also try testing your API request using a tool like Postman to see if you’re able to replicate the error outside of your code.

If the issue persists, I’d recommend reaching out to the OpenAI support team for further assistance. They’ll be able to provide more specific guidance on how to resolve the error and get your API requests working as expected.

Thank You

I have connected to the API now. But It sounds so crazy when I say hi to it. Here is the response from the model:
