Please do not touch the ux/ui

Please fix the bugs instead of spending so much time changing the UI.

Why can’t you just leave a design alone once you’ve made it? Why do you keep making tiny, unnecessary changes over and over again? Please stop constantly fiddling with things that do not need to be changed.

You may think these changes are trivial, but for users who are already used to how things work, every pointless little change creates far more frustration than the change itself is worth.

Please explain to me why, every single time I get into the same car I drive every day, the steering wheel has to be shaped slightly differently or moved to a slightly different position. That is basically what using ChatGPT feels like.

One of the most ridiculous examples happened around the recent World Cup.

For a short time, there was a little football-shaped icon that let users quickly check live World Cup information. Fine.

But even during that short period, the football icon itself was slightly redesigned. I’m attaching screenshots.

And I genuinely want to know: why did that matter?

Was the exact shape of that tiny football icon really so important that somebody had to spend time redesigning it?

Sure, it may seem like a tiny thing. But even tiny things cost time, salaries, meetings, design work, implementation, testing, and money. Watching resources being spent on changes this insignificant is honestly baffling.

Meanwhile, there is still a bug where ChatGPT sometimes starts generating an image even though I never asked it to generate one.

That bug still has not been fixed.

And during that same period, I have seen the UI changed several times for reasons that seem to offer little or no actual value.

Do you even know what your users actually need?

I am seriously starting to wonder whether the people working at OpenAI actually use their own product.

Users have been dealing with these small but endlessly irritating UX problems, along with unfixed bugs, for months and in some cases years, and somehow we are still here.

Do you think existing users are simply captured customers who will tolerate whatever changes are made?

Please. I am genuinely asking.

Why do I constantly have to see posts in the community saying things like:

“Where did the model selector go?”

“Why did this button disappear?”

“Where did they move this feature?”

Again and again.

Please, I am sincerely asking:

Once you settle on a design, stop changing it unless there is a real and meaningful reason to do so.

Stop wasting resources on pointless cosmetic UI changes.

If the design team is spending resources on changes users neither need nor asked for, then the people responsible for those decisions should be replaced.

And please put far more effort into identifying bugs quickly and actually fixing them.

Completely agree. ChatGPT developers change things way more than what should be. It’s jarring. You get used to a feature or how something works and it’s gone the next day. The right bar conversation history has been completely removed and yet it was the best most useful feature of ChatGPT and I don’t feel like manually scrolling and searching for something through tens of thousands of words.

The same, very annonying!

Yep, it’s so frustrating. Every little tiny thing that already worked perfectly has to be updated every 5 minutes and broken.

But seriously what do they be thinking?? Who approves these changes?? Can you imagine they removed the right bar conversation history… These guys are extremely annoying..
