I really don’t like the new Chat mode on Android. The model selector and reasoning effort controls are completely gone, and I can clearly feel that the reasoning quality has dropped on some of my questions.
I don’t want ChatGPT to automatically decide how much reasoning my question needs. Sometimes I specifically need deeper reasoning, and I should be able to choose that myself.
Work mode still has these controls, so please bring them back to Chat mode too. Making the interface simpler shouldn’t mean taking control away from users.
I understand that Work is designed for deep tasks, but many of us have deep conversations in Chat too. I don’t want to switch modes every time I ask a complex question. Please let us choose the reasoning level in Chat as well.
