Playground supports temp, fp, pp up to 2: how do I recalibrate my thinking?

I belatedly noticed that the Playground now supports temp, fp, pp up to 2 (instead of 1). I knew about this capability in theory, but it is a bigger change than I thought it would be, because in reality I have kept all my “prompt engineering” values between the mentally convenient range of 0 and 1. How many of you have used values > 1 and how do you think about it? How can I recalibrate my thinking to gauge (guess) when to use higher than 1 values?
