Feature idea: Selectable bulk chat deletion with automatic batching
It would be extremely useful to have selectable bulk deletion for chat history, especially for people with years of one-off chats mixed in with conversations they want to keep.
One possible implementation would be to let users select any number of chats, then handle the actual deletion in small internal batches.
For example, if the backend is more reliable processing 15 conversations at a time, a user could select 150 chats and press Delete once. The app could immediately hide, grey out, or mark those chats as deleted, then the server could automatically break the request into ten 15-chat deletion jobs and process them asynchronously.
That would keep the interface simple for the user while avoiding one huge deletion transaction. Failed batches could also be retried independently without affecting the rest.
The batch size would not even need to be visible to users. From our perspective it would simply be:
Select chats → Delete → chats disappear
The backend could handle the cleanup at its own pace after they are already marked for deletion.
Even just adding multi-select with a reasonable per-action limit would be a massive improvement over deleting chats one at a time.
