I frequently find myself starting voice chats while I’m in public, just for answers to quick questions, or quick ways to organize my thoughts, and it would really be nice to not broadcast my conversation to the room when I don’t have headphones handy. The ability to just put my phone up to my face, and talk as if it’s a phone call would be incredible addition to the service.
That’s a really cool feature to know about, but I’m a plus user, and use my account on the daily for work/school, so the organizing my thoughts part would mainly be relevant with the infrastructure I’ve built in my account rather than just one off phone calls. To clarify, what I meant, was doing an in voice chat, being able to use the sensor at the top of the phone to detect when you put it up to your ear, and switching to the top speaker only, or even just adding a speakerphone, versus phone speaker option
